The Area Controller of the Western Marine Customs Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Compt. Peters Olugboyega has enjoined the newly promoted officers of the command to show deep appreciation for their promotion with greater commitment and dedication to duties.
Compt. Peters who said this on Tuesday during the decoration of the fifteen officers of the command with their various ranks, reminded them that time of relying on connection is over, explaining that we are now in a new era, charge them to be their brothers keeper and justify their promotion to make the management proud.
According to Compt. Peters, ” This is an additional responsibility and you have to realize that this is a privilege. Don’t abuse this privilege and don’t disappoint the Comptroller General of customs, Col. Hammed Ali (Rtd) and his management team who approved the promotion”.
He urged the promoted officers to develop their skills, justify their new ranks in the core areas of the services by increasing revenue generation, suppressing smugglers at the waterways, among others.
He reminded the officers that previously officers stay on the same rank up to nine years without promotion and commended the comptroller General of customs for yearly promoting officers.
“Under Ali, our promotion is regular, unlike officers who will spend up to nine years in a rank, Ali management is really boosting the morals of officers with regular promotions”, he stated.
Among the promoted officers and the their new ranks are, One Deputy Comptroller of customs, DC .I. Ohanyere, Two Assistant Comptrollers of customs AC. WF Muhammed and AC S.O Ariyibi (PSC) and One SC A.G Musa.
The Public Relations Officer of the command DSC Emma Tangwa is among the 5 promoted DSC, others are Two ASCi A. Orji and A. Adeniyi, Four ASCII M.Y Dansoka, A. Salisu, ES. Edeh and S. Dimka.
